My Art History
Victoria Alexander Marquez lives in Fallbrook, CA and is a graduate of California College of Arts and Crafts, Oakland, CA. She has used many mediums to create art. Starting with silkscreen textiles, producing hand screened fabric as “Fauvette”, and later freelance textile graphic design and silkscreen t-shirts using drawing, painting and computer graphics. While working in the more commercial side of art, fine art was always a part of life making mono silkscreens, etchings, acrylic and oil paintings and collages all of which led to the current mixed media landscape paintings of the Wild Open Spaces. Since 1991 she has exhibited art in Southern California, Baja California, Mexico and Barcelona, Spain.
“I am fascinated with color, pattern and space. First, while working with my drawings to create silkscreen textiles, I began my search for layers. Layers gave me depth and enhanced color and organized my method of application. In the back and forth of color I found the rhythm of the visual plane. This approach has led me through many artist adventures and venues.”
